 CASS/DPVCertification
For postage discounts, CASS/DPV certification are both required by the Post Office.
CASS/DPV verifies addresses and adds other information by matching addresses to Post Office databases. Unmatched addresses mail full postage rate or can be optionally deleted.
Certification verifies deliverability, adds 9-digit zip codes, Data Point, Carrier Route, Line of Travel, delivery point bar-coding, and other presort information. Mail is then presorted/bundled to stringent Post Office regulations.
Certification effects only ADDRESS deliverability. NCOA, an additional cost, updates NAMES AND ADDRESSES.
